Stuffed French Toast

Ingredients

  • 8 3 oz slices french bread
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 1 box cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
  • 1/3 cup raspberry preserves
  • 2/3 cup blueberries

  1. Slice one loaf of french bread into approx 8 3 inch slices and then slice each piece about 3/4 of the way.
  2. Open each piece of bread and spread cream cheese on one side about 1/4" thickness.
  3. Combine preserves and raspberries. Spread mixture on top of cream cheese.
  4. Combine eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Dip each piece into batter.
  5. Grill top, bottom and sides of each piece on a 300 deg griddle for about 4 minutes on each side. Finish off in 385 deg oven for about 5 minutes. Garnish as desired.
