Blue Goose Inn $1,195,000

The Blue Goose Inn provides exceptional B&B accommodations in two neighboring historic Victorian homes located in the heart of Coupeville, on beautiful Whidbey Island. Surrounded by mountains and Puget Sound, Whidbey Island is a well-loved getaway destination for the major Seattle area as well as British Columbia.

This is an excellent opportunity to purchase a turnkey business set in two gorgeous Victorian homes that have been lovingly restored, allowing a new owner to simply step in and start the coffee! The current owners have created an oasis that is well respected in the industry, and by their many repeat guests, having been awarded Best in the West by BedandBreakfast.com for the past two years in a row.

The 1887 Kineth house features three guest rooms on the upper floor, all with private baths and views of Penn Cove. The rooms and bathrooms are quite large and bright. On the ground floor there is an additional guest room with private bath, a large formal parlor with original painted stone fireplace and fir floors, a cheerful sun porch, and a formal dining room with fireplace.

The two-bedroom owner's quarters are situated in the rear of the home, and are quiet, spacious, and bright. There is a large private deck, a huge master bedroom with private full bath, a well-designed kitchen area with an island and all new kitchen appliances. There is also a large laundry room/storage area with two sets of commercial washer/dryers, and a second full refrigerator/freezer and a chest freezer.

The 1891 Coupe-Gillespie home has all the charm of yesteryear but with modern conveniences. There are four separate guest areas, all with private baths. Two of the guest rooms are on the second floor and another two-room suite is on the main floor. There is an additional guest area with a private bedroom and bathroom, full kitchen, living and dining area, and a lovely covered deck, which can be used for a manager’s quarters or a rental. The home retains its original fir floors, high ceilings, and much of the original trim.

The Coupe-Gillespic House was moved to this location, so it has a full daylight basement with slab floor and high ceilings. This space is huge and could easily be finished to provide an additional living area.

The property is situated on a highly visible corner in town, that every visitor passes as they head to the historic seaside village of Coupeville. There are mature gardens that are well maintained and boast large trees scattered throughout the property, including 4 apple trees that produce wonderful apples, a pear tree, a plum tree, a beautiful horse chestnut tree, heritage hawthorn and a curly willow. There is also a small vegetable garden and herb garden as well as plenty of perennial flowers and grassy areas.
