By melding the town's original school house with a residence an 8,000 s.f. Queen Anne Victorian-Gothic Revival Inn and Restaurant was born!
Guests check in at an original chestnut desk in the foyer which still retains the original tile floor and 3 story chestnut staircase. To the left is the portion of the restaurnt in the original school house decorated with a Victorian flair with original hardwood floors and woodwork, fireplaces with original detailing and 3 sets of french doors allowing for more intimate dining. The right side of the restaurant offers a hip yet elegant atmosphere with slate flooring and a granite top mahogany pub bar with a stained glass canopy. There is indoor seating for 65, outdoor seating for 20 and bar seating for 7.
Guest rooms have either original maple hardwood or cherry hardwood. The bathrooms are adorned with marble tile and the 2 king suites pamper guests with Jacuzzis.
The structure has been upgraded with Geothermal heat and central air, new plumbing, 3 phase electric, R21 and R32 insulation, a radiant barrier installed in the entire building, and all new highly efficient windows. It is handicap accissible and looking toward the future, the owners constructed a 3 story stair tower with foundation in place for elevator installation.
The spacious owners apt. offers a nice retreat to cathedral ceilings, with exposed beams, hardwood flooring, and state of the art kitchen.
This business serves staff and visiting family to one of the nation's top 100 heart hospitals a mere 1 block walk away. Corporate business comes from Dupont,, Lockheed Martin, Craftmaster and Millspride. The Tioga Downs Racino is just 10 minutes away. Additionally the inn is just 45 min. from the Finger Lakes Wine Region, Ithaca, Elmira and Binghamton NY.
