Langworthy Farm Bed & Breakfast in Westerly, Rhode Island is located one half mile from Southern Rhode Island‘s finest beaches on scenic Route 1A. The sprawling three story Victorian Farmhouse was built in 1875 on the historical homesite of Governor Samuel Ward of Rhode Island.
The Langworthy Farm Bed & Breakfast has undergone a full scale renovation of the twenty two room property. As you enter through the front door from the wraparound porch it feels like you have stepped back in time. The two story foyer features a grand wooden staircase and a large parlor off to one side. Along the opposite side of the entry way are two of the bed & breakfast inn’s four guest rooms. There are many historic touches, both original and reproduced throughout the inn. The numbers affixed to the guest rooms are original with warm oak floors and crystal wall sconces. The inn also has two guest suites. All rooms have private baths most with Jacuzzi tubs. A few of the rooms offer magnificent ocean views.
The dining room walls are decorated with painted murals of the historic Flying Horse Carousel in nearby Watch Hill, the newly rebuilt Ocean House, Misquamicut Beach, Westerly Public Library as well as the many swans that grace the local ponds.
Some of the upgrades include a modernized kitchen and the addition of new bathrooms. The original home had only 1.5 bathrooms, now there are 7.5. The inn is also equipped with an automatic sprinkler system.
Located a few steps from the Bed & Breakfast is the Langworthy Farm Vineyard. The vineyard is beautifully situated on a hill just a short distance from the Atlantic Ocean, an ideal area for growing grapes and producing wine. The vineyard is located close enough to the water for protection against the early fall frost, yet far enough away to avoid the fog and benefit from the warmth of the land. The winery which overlooks the vineyard includes a tasting room with an expansive deck to enjoy your wine selection. Langworthy Farm Vineyard is a perfect setting for your celebration or just that sought after relaxation.
This historic Bed & Breakfast and Langworthy Farm Vineyard is located not far from museums, theaters, casinos, and much more. Just minutes away is one of the most scenic beaches in New England, Misquamicut Beach as well as Watch Hill where you can take a stroll through the many shops, ride the country’s oldest carousel, or enjoy magical views of Napatree Point.
