GUEST ROOM DESCRIPTIONS
The Honeymoon Suite:
The original owners, John and Amelia Mouat, aptly named their master suite the Honeymoon Suite as a tribute to their love. This suite has huge cherry pocket doors, a spacious round jaccuzi tub in the tower, and a seven-piece carved mahogany bedroom set whose designs match the 1906 Neoclassical pastel patterns on the ceiling.
The Anniversary Suite:
This is the perfect suite for an anniversary get-away. The light-blue Greco-Roman motif is classically romantic. This suite features twin marbled pillars which lead to a Roman bath area and a Victorian 1865 queen-sized Empire style bed. The room features a unique 1890’s Murphy bed, secretly hidden in the mahogany wardrobe with closet and secretary desk.
The Valentine Suite:
This suite was named in honor of Margaret “Valentine” Mouat, the youngest daughter of John Mouat. Her Valentine’s Day birthday gave her this nickname. This suite has a Far-Eastern Persian-style flair, with the most complex and detailed Bradbury ceiling pattern of the entire Inn, and features a king-sized Indonesian wedding bed imported from Java.
The Colonel Franklin Room:
The Colonel Franklin Room was named in honor of the owner/innkeeper’s father, Franklin Keller. He lies in Arlington National Cemetery today, but always loved this room. The room boasts an Colorado-themed Bradbury Woodland wallpaper set. See the richly grained pillared oak mantle with “old west” tiles and the dark walnut Eastlake queen-sized bed. This comfy room captures the spirit of the West!
The Keller Suite:
The Keller Suite is named in honor of the famous activist and humanitarian Helen Keller. This suite features an Anglo-Japanese themed Bradbury wallpaper set, an antique mahogany queen bed, and an oversized mahogany armoire.
